Sponsorship Overview

POLLOCK PROPERTIES, INC.

Bob Pollock  is the Founder and Managing Partner of Pollock Properties, and is responsible for the overall vision of the Buttermilk Falls resort. Bob is a seasoned developer with a proven track record and strong community ties in Milton, NY. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Bob’s entrepreneurial journey began with a keen eye for opportunity and a passion for real estate and hospitality. After earning a degree in biochemistry from Vassar College, he returned to Brooklyn for graduate school, where his first foray into real estate would shape the trajectory of his career. Using a student loan, Bob purchased a house in the early 1980s, where he and several classmates lived while attending school. It was during this time that he recognized the potential of property ownership and rental income, setting the foundation for what would become a thriving real estate and hospitality portfolio.

Bob’s investments quickly grew across Brooklyn and Manhattan, including key neighborhoods such as Red Hook, Hell’s Kitchen, the East Village, and Cobble Hill. Recognizing the synergy between real estate development and local business, Bob partnered with designers from Pratt Institute and neighborhood developers to launch several successful ventures, including a pizzeria, a Cajun restaurant, a laundromat, and multiple hospitality projects in Hell’s Kitchen.

A significant shift in Bob’s journey came when he sought a new home following an unfortunate incident with a neighbor cutting down trees, which compromised his privacy. This led him to Milton, where he acquired two parcels of land. Initially, his focus was on residential development, but after a year, he decided to transform one of the properties into a bed-and-breakfast, with the intention of having a neighbor manage the operations.

Embracing this unexpected return to hospitality, Bob continued acquiring neighboring properties, gradually expanding his holdings into what is now known as Buttermilk Falls Inn & Spa. Today, Buttermilk Falls stands as a premier luxury retreat in the Hudson Valley, featuring a boutique inn, a farm-to-table restaurant, a spa, and a sustainable farm. Through a combination of strategic acquisitions, thoughtful development, and a deep commitment to hospitality, Bob has transformed Buttermilk Falls into a distinguished destination, further solidifying his reputation as a visionary developer and operator in the boutique hospitality space.
